As the COVID-19 epidemic unfolds, understanding science is critical to navigate health risks and the consequences of sudden large-scale social distancing.
Our mission is to help people in Latin America reason about their role as courageous individuals within the global effort to control the spread of coronavirus in their community and empower them to be proactive - armed with an understanding of the science of COVID-19.
We've arranged a global civilization in which most crucial elements profoundly depend on science and technology. We have also arranged things so that almost no one understands science and technology.
This is a prescription for disaster.
By sharing science - from epidemiology to social dynamics - in creative ways through a number of formats and lenses the project invites reflection on the question: “What is my role today and how do I best serve my community?”
We promote online-learning in times of social-distancing - looking to safeguard people impacted by COVID-19, while educating the next generation of leaders who will be tasked with exploring and protecting the planet. Even if the exploring, for now, is done from home through self-directed learning.
It has to do with curiosity. It has to do with people wondering what makes something do something. And then to discover, if you try to get answers, that they are related to each other.

Our goal is to create dynamic maps and visualizations that highlight key factors of how populations are impacted by, responding to, and coping with social policies in light of COVID-19.
Estimates of aggregate flows of people across geographies can yield insights into the import of social distancing messaging or policies on population mobility patterns - this might, for example, help country officials understand the type of policies and messaging that are most effective.
